"CHARLES WILLIAM HARRISON
Charles William Harrison, son of Walter and Melissa Harrison was born at
Norton, Kansas, September 11, 1879 and died at his home near Glen Elder,
Kansas, August 18, 1930 at the age of 50 years, 11 months and 7 days.
He was married to Eva Casey, July 24, 1901. To this union were born five
children.
Practically all of his life was spent in this community. He was loved and
respected by all his neighbors.
In early life he was converted and united with the Friends Church holding
places of honor and trust in the Chruch being a trustee at the time of his
death. He was a faithful member and always attended the services whenever
able.
He was a devoted husband and loving father and no sacrifice was too great for
him to make for his family. He always had a kind word for every one he met.
His father preceded him in death four years ago.
He is survived by his wife and the following children: Irene, LaVerne, Gerald
Elwood and Opal, two grand children, Donald and Mary Harrison, his aged mother,
Mrs. Walter Harrison, two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Burt, of Kansas City; and Mrs.
Anna Lowdermilk and a brother, Melvin Harrison, of Glen Elder and a host of
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fred McKenney, Tuesday, p.m. at Glen
View and interment made in Grellet Cemetery."
