Edmund de Stafford, who, having distinguished himself in the Scottish wars, was summoned to parliament as a Baron, by King Edward I, from 6 Feb 1299 to 26 Aug 1308, the year of his decease. He md. Margaret, dau., and at length heir of Ralph, Lord Basset, of Drayton, and had issue, Ralph, his successor; Richard, md. Maud, dau. and heir of Richard de Camville, of Clifton, and was styled "Sir Richard Stafford, of Clifton, Knt." His lordship d. in 1308, and was succeeded by his elder son, Ralph de Stafford.
