It is believed that he was son of David Evans, merchant of Boston, who died 1663, Jul. 27, leaving widow Mary, and several children.
He gave his occupation as joiner, carpenter and millwright in different deeds.
1689, Feb. 7. His name was in the list of those who were resident proprietors at Rehoboth at this date.
1713, Jun. 16. Providence. Taxed 2s. Qd.
1718, Jun. 25. He sold to Peleg Rhodes, 100 acres for £53.
1718, Jul. 1. He deeded to his son-in-law John Church, now of Providence, formerly of Killinglv, for parental affection, &c, 3 tracts of land and ½ a saw mill near Chapatset Falls; about 70 acres in all.
1727, Jan. 6. Will—proved 1727, May 15. Exx. wife Mary. To wife lie gives all lands and movable estate and all right in saw mill at Chapachoge, with power to dispose of same and give some part to every one of his children;
though he had already disposed to all near what he had to share, viz: to sons Richard and David Evans and daughters Martha Aldrich, Mary Sayer, Elizabeth Church, and Mehitable Plummer. Such part as would have gone to
son Richard, he wished his executrix to give to granddaughter Sarah.
Inventory, £98, 3s. Qd., viz: 1 horse, 1/4 of a saw mill, 3 loads of hay, gun, barrel cider, pewter platter, silver spoon, books, warming pan, &c.
1729. Inventory of widow Mary Evans, estate £52, viz: old gun, joiner's tools, stillyards, pewter, 2½ oz. silver, &c.
