JOHN HOWLAND of the MAYFLOWER, Vol. 1, by Eliz. P. White, 1990, pg. 2-3: On or about what was then New Year's Day, 25 Mar 1623 (old style), John Howland m. his fellow MAYFLOWER passenger, Eliz. Tilley, Eliz. was the 5th and yougest child of a silk-weaver named John Tilley, and his wife, Joan (Hurst) Rogers. She was the only ch8ild of her parents recorded as coming with them to America. At the time of her marriage she was not quite 16 years of age.
