Hiram was a soldier under Gen. Jackson while he was very young. Enlisted Oct 4, 1813 & discharged March 2, 1814. He was also a Private in McCroy's Regiment, W. Tennessee Militia War of 1812. He married twice; to Miss Elizabeth Bryan or Brian and Mrs. Hannah Gore-Masters.
