Notes about Cornelis Hasselaer

Cornelis werd geboren in 1676, Hij vertrok in 1696 als lagere assistent naar Indie en klom daar snel op. In 1721 werd hij Raad Ordinaris, in 1729 Eerste Raad en Directeur-Generaal van Indie. Kort daarna kwam hij terug in Amsterdam en werd in 1733 voor FL 50.000,- eigenaar van een pand op de Keizersgracht met een stal daarachter in de Kerkstraat.
In 1735 kocht hij voor FL 30.000,- grond voor een te bouwen buitenplaats Groeneveld. (zie foto)

In 1737 overleed hij.
