Geboorte aangegeven door Cornelia Visser oud 54 jaar geboren om 5.00 voormiddag op het Blindemanswater in Rotterdam.
Getuige: 1. Dirk Philippus Bunk oud 57 jaar commies
2. Hendrik van Wijk oud 23 jaar klerk.

In het gemeentearchief van Rotterdam van 1880-1900 staat op pagina 531-2 dat Joseph Alexander is aangemonsterd op 17 juni 1901 op het opleidingsschip voor jongens, hij was toen 15 jaar. Uit de zelfde akte blijkt dat hij (net als zijn zuster) bij, Willem van Rosse en Jansje Burgmans (zijn oom en Tante) in huis is geweest.

Ik kan me herinneren dat in de jaren 1950-1955 een Alex en Maud Burgmans in mijn ouderlijk huis op bezoek is geweest, zij kwamen uit Engeland.
In ongeveer 1980 heeft mijn broer Eduard in Californie een brief ontvangen van, de zoon van Alex en Maud Burgmans, ook een Alexander uit Bath (Engeland) hij werkte daar in een bar of restaurant. Zeer waarschijnlijk had hij ook een zuster.

Op een vakantietrip met onze vrienden ( Jan en Jes Raadersma) zijn Ellie en ik in September 1998 naar Zuid Engeland geweest. In de bibliotheek in Redruth Cornwall vonden we informatie dat in West Derby Vol. 8b pagina 409 een huwelijksakte is opgemaakt van Joseph Alexander Burgmans.
Daar konden we niet veel mee.
We zij in alle telefoonboeken van heel Engeland ( ongeveer 300 boeken.) gaan zoeken naar een Burgmans, helaas niet gevonden. Er is geen levende Burgmans in Engeland meer of er is een geheim telefoonnummer.

Op de huwelijksakte staat vermeld dat zijn vader ook Joseph Alexander heette en ook Barman was geweest.

Uit andere bronnen blijkt zijn moeder nooit getrouwd te zijn geweest.
