CORBIN (Jedediah, Jedediah, Philip, James, Clement), "b. Jan. 24, 1831, at Charlton; m. Elmira J. Kenney of Putnam in March 1856. He went to Thompson in 1849 and to Putnam in 1855, where he began in 1857 to manufacture shoes. In this business he became quite successful and established a factory where he carried on the business for many years. He was elected Selectman (one of a board of officials elected in towns of all New England states except Rhode Island to serve as the chief administrative authority) in Putnam for several years. From 1901 to 1904 he was warden of the town farm at Leicester, Mass. He now reside at Putnam, Conn. His wife d. May 8, 1904, and was buried at Putnam."
