'PANNKUK, JOHN 1869-1952 PANNKUK, LENA SCHRADER 1877-1950
John Pannkuk was born in Forreston, Illinois, where he spent the first seven years of his life. In 1879 he came to Parkersburg, Iowa. In 1883, at the age of fourteen, he and his parents moved to Kossuth County, where he lived the restof his life.
In 1895 he married Lena Schrader. She was born in Avoca, Wisconsin. She came to the Titonka area, Kossuth County with her parents, August and Wilhelmine (Falk) Shrader, in a covered wagon. Following their wedding they lived

in Buffalo Center for two years. They then moved to a farm in German Township where they farmed until they retired in 1944 and moved to Titonka.
They were blessed with six children: Ada (Wirtjes, Minnie, Alice, John, Ray and Irvin ...'

LAST RITES FOR JOHN B PANNKUK HELD LAST FRIDAY
Funeral services for John B. Pannkuk were held last Friday afternoon from the Swan Funeral Home and the Ramsey Reformed church with Rev. Roskamp in charge. Pallbearers were Peter Ubben, Peter Beenken, Joe Kline, Henry Meinders, ThomasLoats, and Henry Spear.
Following is the obituary read by Rev. Roskamp: The Almighty God, kind heavenly FAther, in his all wise and never failing Providence, has seen fit to remove from this life into eternity, the beloved father John Pannkuk.
He was born to Anton Pannkuk and his wife Ada Meyer Sept. 7, 1869, at Forreston, Ill. Here he spent the first seven years of his life. In 1876 he with his parents and other children of the family moved to Parkersburg and resised thereseven years.
At the age of 14 years he came with his parents to Kossuth county and there remained his entire [sic] life. On April 16, 1895, he was united in marriage to Miss Lena Schrader, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Schrader. This happy unionwas blessed with six children, Viz: Ada, Minnie, Alice, John, Raymond and Irvin.
After their marriage the young couple moved to Buffalo Center where they resided for two years. The next 45 years were spent on the farm in German Township. They then retired to their present home.
He enjoyed good health until these last number of years, when he was stricken with an illness of which he didn't recover. He was bedbast four days. On Sunday, May 17, there were indications that his condition was growing worse. then itbecame apparent that his condition was alarming. Everything was done that loving hands could do. He passed away on Tuesday morning, May 20, at 9 o'clock in the morning at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 15 days.
Mr. Pannkuk was a patient sufferer and a kind, sympathetic understanding husband and father. He will be greatly missed by his children, relatives and friends. He loved his Savior and was at peace with the knowledge that he was ready toleave. More often he requested family prayer with his children which was so comforting.
He was preceded in death by his wife Feb. 18, 1950. He leaves to mourn his six children, Viz: Mrs. William Wirtjes, Lakota, Minnie and Alice at home, John and Irvin of Titonka, Raymond of Rippey, Iowa. Eight grandchildren, one greatgrand-child and the following brothers and sisters, Seaver of Titonka, Ben of Estherville, Mrs. Effie Groathous of Minneapolis, Mrs. Ella Johnson of Milnor, North Dakota, and many relatives an hosts of friends." <>
