March 12, 1913 she was married to Wm. Mayland in Woden. He died January 10,1919.

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry (Lena) Schmidt, 90, of Mason City were held Saturday morning, February 20, at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Mason City with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Interment was in ElmwoodCemetery, Mason City and Major Erickson Funeral Home of Mason City was in charge of arrangements. She had died Thursday, February 18, 1982 at Americana Health Care Ceriter where she had been a resident for almost four years.
Pallbearers were John R. Sleper, Marlin Mayland, James E. Hickey, Henry L. Mayland, Michael P. Mayland, and Arthur W. Mayland.

Survivors include her three daughters, Mane Schm,dt of Mason City, Mrs J. R. Erna) Sleper of Titonka, and Mrs. James (Lena Mae) Hickey of Mason City; three sons, Henry Mayland of Buffalo Center, Dietrich Mayland of Elmore, MN and ErnestSchmidt of Mason City; four brothers, Fred Boyken of Fremont, California, John W. Boyken of Woden, bilert Boyken of New Richland, MN and Dietrich Boyken of Algona; 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, William, and one brother." <>
