Emra "Jap" D Traver, 80, of Noxen, died Monday at home. Born Aug 17 1912 in Buckwheat Hollow, he was the son of the late David H and Florence Patton Traver. He resided in Noxen for most of his life. He was employed by the Armour Leather Co, Noxen, for 15 years and the Endicott Johnson Tannery, NY, for three years. He was last employed as a tractor-trailer driver for 18 years by Joseph Delbo, Danville, retiring 12 years ago. He was a member of the Bowmans Creek Free Methodist Church. He and his wife, the former Geraldine C Shultz, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversry in Nov. He was preceded in death by brothers, James, Ashley, Alfred, and Richard; sisters, Stella Whispell and Mary Hopfer. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons, George E, Millville; Larry B and Jerry Mark, both of Washingtonville; Donald D, Daniel E and Dennis Everitt, all of Tunkhannock; Thomas D, Lightstreet; Leonard C, Mehoopany; daughter, Evelyn Hettesheimer, Noxen, 19 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, brother, Sylvester Jack Traver, Noxen; sister, Clara Traver, Tunkhannock. Funeral 11 a.m. Thurs from Curtis L Swanson Funeral Home, Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev David Williams, pastor of St Luke's Reformation Lutheran Church, Noxen, officiating.
