CLARA L. TRAVER, 93, OF TUNKHANNOCK, DIED FRIDAY IN TYLER MEMORIAL HOSPITAL.
February 13, 1998. Clara L. Traver, 93, of Tunkhannock, died Friday in Tyler Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 1, 1904, in Buckwheat Hollow, she was daughter of the late David H. and Florence E. Patton Traver. She graduated from Beaumont schools. She was a member of the Bowmans Creek Free Methodist Church and its Womens Missionary Society. Before she retired, she worked in the garment manufacturing industry and served as chairwoman of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She volunteered her services to the American Heart Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, Voyle, last May; sisters Mary and Estella; brothers James, Ashley, Alfred, Richard, Sylvester and Emra.
Surviving are daughters Jeanette Wright, Florida; Dorothy Patton, Tunkhannock; a son, Seldon Traver, Greencastle; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Nulton Funeral Home, Route 309, Beaumont, with the Rev. Gilbert Dutton officiating. Interment will be in Ocrutt Grove Cemetery, Noxen. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
