On February 8, 1841, after the marriage of Annis S. Walker Teter to Levi Cox, Annis deeded her dower of 40 acres (Sec. 36, Twsp. 2, R7W) to her eldest son, Abraham. ; Polly Ann Green became his wife in 1845. They lived on this property and reared a family of eleven children.
Abraham Teter married, May 15, 1845 in St. Clair Co., IL, Polly Ann Green, daughter of Francis Burdett Green and Rebecca Parker. Polly was born January 19, 1824 in Illinois and died January 19, 1895.
"History of St. Clair Co., (Illinois)," Vol. 1, pg. 211, F167:
"Levi and Annis named their first child for his grandfather (Abraham). This younger Abraham was 18 years old when Levi died. Probate records include mention of work which Abraham performed to help pay off some of Levi's debts......Abraham was a farmer and stock raiser. Both were members of Marissa Baptist Church and both are buried in Marissa Cemetery."
