Excerpted from A. J. Fretz book -
[ In 1745 Henry Rosenberger became the owner of the old homestead of his father Henry Rosenberger, Sr. in Franconia for which the son Henry paid 200 pounds. Henry Rosenberger also owned a farm in New Britain, Bucks Co., which he purchased from Christian Miller, deed bearing date of April 13, 1773, containing 100 acres for which he paid 600 pounds. This property he sold and conveyed to his son-in-law Mark Fretz, of New Britain, May 5, 1784. At this time (1784) Henry Rosenberger seems to have been a resident of Franconia, as the deed of Henry Rosenberger to Mark Fretz, reads "Henry Rosenberger, of Franconia Twp., etc. That he at one time lived in New Britain township where he owned other land, is certain. On Sept. 26, 1774 he bought 29 3/4 acres of John Benner, situated at the Neshaminy Creek, adjoining lands of Thomas Barton and the said Henry Rosenberger and which he sold to John Redline, of New Britain township, July 13, 1790 for 175 pounds. At this time he must have lived in New Britain, as indenture to Redline reads "Henry Rosenberger, of New Britain township and Elizabeth being his second wife, maiden name unknown. No issue by her. April 15, 1774, "Henry Rosenberger, of New Britain township, bought of Theophules Reese, 140 acres, adjoining William Davis, Thomas Barton and David Morgan and sold it to Jacob Miller, April 6, 1975.
It is said that Henry Rosenberger lived in New Britain township about a mile NE from the Line Lexington Mennonite Church, that his farm adjoined the township line of Hilltown on the NW and on the NE by a public road. His farm was for many years owned by George Scheip, who sold a part of it to Aaron S. Swartley.
Henry Rosenberger was a Mennonite minister and served as such at the Franconia Meetinghouse during the time of the Revolution. ]
