[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 9, Ed. 1, Tree #2432, Date of Import: Oct 20, 2000] LYDIA BARNHART, daughter of Bro. Andrew and sister Mary Wagoner, was born February 14, 1876, near Osceola, Missouri. At the age of 8 years she moved with her parents to Encampment, Wyoming, where she grew to womanhood. There she united in marrage to David C. Killingsworth, September 10, 1899. To this union were born 3 children; Hazel Belle, Lloyd Raymond, and Mabel Pearl. After 7 years, they moved from Wyoming to Franklin County, Kansas, living there 3 years . While there, they made a couple moves and then went back to Wyoming. It was there this union was broken by the passing of her husband in 1909. She took her children and lived with her widowed mother until 1910; then she moved to Pratt County, Kansas. At Pratt County, she was again united in marrage , to Bro. Jesse W. Barnhart, on October 19, 1913. To this union were born 4 children; Vernia, Ivan, and Alva and Alvan (Twins). Mother had been blessed with unusually good health until about 9 years ago, when the afflictions of this life became her lot. She came to the end of her journey and heard the master's call on January 30, 1960, at the Pratt County Hospital, at the age of 83 years, 11 month, and 16 days. She, being the last of a family of 9 children, is survived by only one sister-in-law, Eva Wyman. Preceding her in death are; 1 daughter, sister Hazel Kinzie; 1 son, Bro. Lloyd Killingsworth; and 2 grandchildren. Also, she leaves her companion, who has so tenderly cares for her; 2 daughters; Sister Mabel Kessler and Sister Vernia Riffey; 3 sons; Ivan, Alva, and Bro.Alvan; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends. When a young woman, 50 years ago, she united with the church of her choice, the Old German Baptist, and has lived with that faith and practice until the end. She felt the need of the anointing service several times during her sickness in the past years, which she received, and which gave her much comfort. "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord." She will not return to us, but we can remember her teachings and be prepared for a home in Heaven when we, too, shall leave this world. Funeral services were conducted February 2, at 2 P.M.. with a hymn and prayer at the home and services at the church by the undersigned, assisted by the home brethren. Scripture used; Job 14:14; "If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come." Hymns used; 403, 384, 395, 522, and 400. Burial was made in the Cemetery near the churchyard, there to await the glorious resurrection morn. Alvah Turner
