The estates of THOMAS BRUGIS were sequestered in 1650, when his mother begged discharge of Castroffe, in Aston Manor, Ivinghoe. In 1652, the five years having expired, she further begged the yearly allowance of £10 from the manor to which she was entitled by the will; the claim was allowed.

National Archives: SP23 219 p.83: Thomas Brugis of Rickmersworth in the County of Hertford gent. His delinquency that he was a Phisitian & Surgeon in the late Kings Quarters wch. he deserted in the yeares 1646 & tooke the Negative Oath, and hath lived in ye pliamts Quarters ever Since. He peticoned here the ivth of May 1650 & Saith he was never sequestred, but desires to Compound for an Estate lately given him. He Compounds upon a Particular delivered in under his hand, whereby he Submitts to Such fine &c And by wch it doth appeare that by the will of his father dated the 13 of June 1647 there is divised to his mother for 5 years, the remainder to ye Compoundg for his life, the Remr to Henry Brugis his Sonne in fee the Mannor of Castrofe & certayne lands in the pish of Ivingho & Edlesborough in the County of Bucks of the yearly value before the warrs - 28 l. His psonall Estate in goods - 10. But it appears by the Said Will that the Compounder is to pay out of the Said Lands to his mother for her life 10 l p Annu. 21 May 1650 21 May 1650 Jo Bradnige Find at 1/6 - 42.13.4. One messuage with arrable and pasture bein in the pish of Ivingoe in the County of Bucks nowe in lease to one Elingham payeinge twenty poundes rent p ann. Eighteene acres and a half of arable land lyinge and beinge generally in the comon feilds in the pish of Edlesborowe in the County of Bucks nowe in lease to one Richard Brugis for eight pounds p ann. Estate of goods tenn poundes. Debts which I owe by Coml 44 l 15s 00d The aforesaid land is but only for terme of life and to paye tenn poundes p ann. out of it besides. To the ho:ble the Comiss:nrs for compoundinge with dilinquents. The humble peticon of Thomas Brugis of Rickmsworth in Com Hertfs. Sheweth That ye petr haveinge beene in the last kinges quarters phisitian and surgeon which hath lived in the said parish of Rickmsworth by his said profession of phisicke and Chirurgery. And whereas ye petr was never sequestred and nowe haveinge certaine landes lately given him the particular whereof hereunto is armeged. Ye petr humbly desires to submitt himself to his composition for his said dilinquency and wilbe most willinge to observe ye honours directions therein. And ye petr will daily praye &c. 10 Maye 1650 Tho: Brugis Refer’d to Mr Reading to examine & report Jo: Leech.
