Orders of the 17 of Aprill 1651 and 20 May 1652 upon the peticon of Francis Brugis of Edlesborough in the County of Bucks widow desireinge allowance of her estate for five years expiring this month of June of Lands now Sequestred by yor. Order, for that Thomas Bruges her sonn hath neglected to pay the fine imposed for his delinquency I finde. That Henry Brugis gent by his last will and testament in writeing bearing date the 13 of June 1647 did give and bequeath unto the peticoner then his wife the Mannor of Castroff in Aston in the parrish of Ivingho and divers other lands in Ivingo and Edlesborough aforesaid in the said County of Bucks, and a half yard of meadow in Leighton in the County of Bedford Habend to the petr and her assignes from his death for 5 yeares And after expiracon of that tearme then to the said Thomas Bruges his sonne and his assignes for tearme of his Life, and after his decease then to Henry Brugis his Sonn and his heires for ever upon condicon that the said Thomas Bruges and Henry Bruges their heires and assignes do pay unto the peticoner and her assignes for her life from and after the end of the said tearme of 5 yeares the yearely rent or some of Tenn pounds paiable at Lady day and Michaelmas by equall portions with a power to the petr. to enter and enioy the moity of the premisses for her life if default were made of payment of the said Rent of tenn pounds or any part thereof by the space of 15 daies And by the same will the said Henry Bruges the devisor, did devise unto the peticoner and her assignes the Mannor of Bowells, and divers lands and tenements in the parrish of Edlesborough aforesaid, and certaine meadow ground in Leighton aforesaid in the said County of Bedford Habend to the peticoner and her assignes for the tearme of 5 yeares from his decease the remainder to Richd Brugis his sonn and the heires of his body the remainder in fee to the right heires of the devisor charged with the Rent of 25 l paid to the peticoner for her life to commence after the expiracon of the said 5 yeares with like power to the peticoner to enter and enioy the one moytie thereof for her life. If default be made of payment of the said 25 l or any part thereof by the space of 15 daies after the daie of payment thereof As by the probate of the Said will under the Seale of the prerogative Court and deposed by Humphry Stourton to be examined with the Originall, and that it is a true copie thereof, apeareth And I find that the said Thomas Brugis the sonn compounded here the 21 May 1650 at a sixt, and by his perticuler Set downe that by his fathers will dated the 13 of June 1647 there is devised to his mother for 5 yeares the remainder to the said Thomas Brugis for his life, the Remainder to Henry Brugis his sonn in fee, the said Mannor of Castroff and certain Lands in the parrish of Ivingo and Edlesborough in the said County of Bucks of the yearly vallue of Twenty eight pounds, and that hee was to pay to his mother out of the same Lands 10 l p ann. for her life, for which and for his personall estate of 10 l his fine was Sett 42 l. 14.4. which was confirmed the 21 October 1651 but I do not finde any part of that fine paid in. And I finde that the said Richard Brugis compounded here the 8 of May 1649 upon his owne discovery for the remainder of the said Mannor of Bowells, and other Lands to him devised after th’expiracon of the said tearme of 5 years being of the yearly vallue of 62 l charged with 25 l p ann. to his mother for her life by his fathers said will for which his fine was sett 40 l which hee paid in. The peticoner alleaged by her peticon that the Comrs. of Bucks have sequestred as well the said Lands devised to the said Richard Burgis, as the said Lands devised to the said Thomas Burgis. And the said Comrs. certifie, that the Land mentioned in her peticon, were Sequestred as the Lands of Thomas Brugis her Sonn by yor. Order of the 16 of February 1650, for that the said Tho: Bruges neglected to pay the fine for his delinquency. and they certifie that the peticoners husband by his Said will bequeathed to the peticoner the Land in question for 5 yeares to comence from his death, which tearme determines this present June 1652. The peticoner also peticioneth you for allowance of the said Tenn pounds p ann. out of the said Mannor of Castroff after the expiracon of the said 5 yeares dureing her life. So it submitted to Judgment whether the peticoner shall not be allowed the profitts of the said Lands which have bin reesaned? by the said Commissioners by vertue of ye said Order dureing the continuance of the said tearme of 5 yeares, And whether the said Lands devised to the said Thomas Bruges shall not be anew Sequestred out of the hands of the said Thomas Brugis, for non payment of his said fine And whether the peticoner shall not he allowed to enioy her said Rent charge of 10 l pann. out of the said Lands devised to the said Tho: Brugis dureing her life, the sequestracon notwthstanding. 22 Jun 1652 Jo Bradnige
