Aunt (and the subject in one of his books) of the writer Edward Morgan Forster (E M Forster) b.1879 and son of E M L and Alice Clara Forster, an architect living in London. Marianne left her nephew a legacy in her will which allowed him to travel and write. Two of his most famous novels are 'A Passage to India' and 'Howards End' which was made into a TV series several years ago.

1861 aged 64, living at The Common, Clapham with her nephew and nieces Robert H J Synnott 20, Henrietta L Synnott 20, Frances M Thornton 18 and Ella L Forster 17, and four servants; lady's maid Ann Stafford 29, cook Sarah Berry 35, lady's maid Mary A Stratton 24 and housemaid Mary A Good 30.
