"Powell Services Planned Tuesday at Grace Church
Services for Russell H. Powell, 76, of 1109 Orchard St., who died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church. Dr. Benjmain R. Lewis will officiate and burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in West Lafayette.
Mr. Powell was born Nov. 9, 1892 at West Lafayette, a son of Francis J. and Harriett Russell Powell, and was married Sept. 25, 1919 to Ada Snoots, who survives.
He was educated in the West Lafayette schools and West Lafayette College and received his degree in Pharmacy at Ohio State University. He had been employed as a pharmacist at Brungart's Drug Store and at the old Page & Lorenz Drug firm for 50 years.
Mr. Powell was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and served as Sunday School superintendent [sic] and as a member of the offical [sic] board of the congregation, Methodist Men's Club, Masonic lodge and American Legion Post at West Lafayette.
Surviving besides his wife are one son, James L. Powell, Canton; one daughter, Mrs. John (Harriett) Pesek, Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Eugene F. Powell, Lincoln, Neb.; five grandchildren. One son is deceased.
Friends will be received at the Glass Funeral Home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., until noon Tuesday and at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time for services."
