Hij is getrouwd met Eliza Sheflin.
Zij zijn getrouwd op 12 april 1848 te Portsmouth, Scioto County, Ohio, United States, hij was toen 27 jaar oud.
Kind(eren):
James and Eliza living in Portsmouth, OH had four children. The second child,Susan, was given to James's sister, Ruth, and her husband Richard Hardesty Porter, living in Vermillion Co., IN when Susan was about seven or eight. At thattime they had I. A. (or Ira) Hannahs, a son one year older than Susan, and James, a son two years younger than Susan. A daughter, Sarah (Sallie) was born when Susan was six, seven or ten depending upon which census is accurate.
I canfind no reason for the daughter going to Indiana to live. James was a cook and he is written up in the "History of Scioto County" pg 348 as providing a grand feast for the July 4, 1858 celebration. This is about the time Susan was being given away.
James also ran for City Treasurer in 1862 but received only 71 votes.
Sallie Hannahs photograph is in a family album now in my possession. Ialso have a photo of Sallie's husband, Rev. E. Monnett. I will be happy to copy these photos for anyone interested.
