Notes about Arent Tijmen (Reinderts) van Oosten

Arent van Oosten was één van de grotere verveeners. Hij bezat meer dan 100 morgen veen en was hoofparticipant van de Algemene Compagnie. Hij trad vele malen op als keurnoot, gemachtigde of borg; was karspelvolmacht in 1751-1753, 1757-1759, 1771-1773, dus ook tijdens de bakkersstaking in 1772.
Hij was in 1764 één der kopers die in combinatie het landgoed "Vredenrus't' of :Vriesenrust" kochten van de graaf van Limburg Stirum. Op 10-7-1767 word "Vredenrust" door hem (namens de combinatie?) verkocht aan Mr. Johan Munnik te Heerenveen. Arent had behalve Vredenrust zelf ook grond.
