Notes about Hendrik "Hein" Kerssens

Hij neemt eerst de kruidenierszaak van zijn vader in Akersloot over maar zijn vrouw is niet zo geschikt voor de zaak. Ze besluiten dan op 15/3/1920 te verhuizen van Akersloot naar Schoten (Haarlem) en laten een huis bouwen aan het Schotervoetpad - dit pad lag bij de Jan Gijzenkade en bij het bruggetje bij het park.
Hein werkt hier als schillenboer, iedereen in de buurt mag wel eens meerijden met zijn paard en wagen, hij raakt het eigendom van zijn huis kwijt aan de gemeente doordat hij met zijn handkar een motorrijder aanrijdt. ( hij was niet verzekerd)
In 1955 moeten zijn vrouw en hij hun huis uit omdat dit gesloopt moet worden om plaats te maken voor een stukje speelplaats bij de nieuwgebouwde school, zij verhuizen dan naar Lijsterstraat 39 en het gezin van hun zoon Nico die hiernaast woont betrekt de bovenverdieping van dit huis.
