Notes about Aukje van der Werff

Aukje van der Werff kon nadat zij kinderen had gekregen, het gezin steeds moeili
jker handhaven, zij schreeuwde naar de kinderen maar dezen luisterden daar niet
naar. Waarschijnlijk is Aukje een schippersdochter geweest en heeft daarmee een
zware jeugd gehad. De inkomsten van een schippersgezin waren zeer gering zodat v
ele schippers in armoede moesten leven. De kinderen moesten het schip jagen (d.
m.v. een touw het schip trekken). Aukje heeft deze ervaringen (waarschijnlijk) o
ok beleefd en dit heeft ertoe bij gedragen dat haar geestelijk welzijn slecht on
twikkeld is (zie ook de aantekenig van Koene Hoekstra). Aukje is vanaf 1946 opg
enomen geweest in een beschermde omgeving, zij is in het psygiatrische ziekenhui
s te Wagenborgen overleden.
Zij is daar tientallen jaren opgenomen geweest.
