In 1814 trouwt Tallechien Jans Diepen uit Oude Pekela met Johan Everhard Mittendorf uit Belm bij Osnabrück. Het huwelijk wordt voltrokken in Loppersum en hun kinderen worden geboren in Wirdum, één van de dorpjes van Loppersum. De achternaam Mittendorf 'vernederlandst' via Mittendorp naar Middendorp. Slechts één tak gaat verder onder de naam Mittendorp.
