Notes about Jacobus Cornelis "Co" Koldewijn

Co Koldewijn werd geboren in Dordrecht, tegelijkertijd met zijn tweelingbroer Andries (1876-1924). Hij had nog een oudere en een jongere broer. Na het overlijden van zijn beide ouders ging hij in de leer als banketbakker in Utrecht, Rotterdam, ’s-Gravenhage, Amsterdam, Dordrecht, en Bussum. Hij werd vrijgesteld van militaire dienst wegens broederdienst. In 1906 nam hij in Hoorn de banketbakkerij van Klaas Gleijsteen (1854-1912) over. De firma Koldewijn op de Gedempte Turfhaven was jarenlang een begrip in Hoorn. Hij trouwde in 1906 met Nel Sonne (1879-1944) en kreeg één dochter, Lena (1907-1989). Als gevolg van syfilis kreeg hij niet meer kinderen. In 1924 overleed hij aan darmkanker en zette zijn vrouw de banketbakkerij voort.
