Zoon Gerrit de Grutter trouwde op 17 mei 1901 met Aagje Verhoef. Hij is dan 26 jaar. Vier jaar later in 1905, koopt Gerrit “De Jonge Prins”. In de acte staat e.e.a. beschreven als: “een huis ingericht tot logement, van oudsher genaamd “de Jonge Prins” met stalling en koetshuis, huis, erf, grond, tuin en water te Baambrugge” voor de som van hfl. 4400.- van ene Dirk Schaap. Een jaar later, in 1906 (hij is dan 31 jaar) gaat hij daar met zijn vrouw, Aagje Verhoef, en hun (op dat moment) drie kinderen, wonen. De kruidenierszaak zaak wordt voortgezet in “de Jonge Prins”.
