    Gerardus Dijst die de zaak van zijn vader had overgenomen, een compagnonschap aanging met Wouterus van Tol, ging op 14-03-1907 faillliet.Op 29-03-1912 vertrekt hij naar Zutphen, waar hij wordt opgenomenin het Psychiatrisch Centrum aan de Vordenseweg 12. Hij komt nog wel naar Amsterdam (getuige de geboorte van de kinderen).
