""HET GOUDEN HUWELIJKSFEEST.
Het gouden paar Van Delft-Aarts had het niet getroffen met het weer, want de overtrekkende sneeuwstormen probeerden aan alle kanten de versiering, aangebracht aan het woonhuis en voor de ingang van de zaal van cafe Hubers te vernielen. Maar met vereende krachten bleven de buurtbewoners de elementen de baas en zo kreeg het geheel toch een feestelijk aanzien.
Per auto werd het Gouden Paar naar de kerk gereden, voorafgegaan door bruidjes en gevolgd door de familie en de buurt. Pastoor Vinken droeg een plechtige H.Mis op, waarbij het zangkoor onder leiding van de heer Van Moorsel op keurige wijze de gezangen uitvoerde. Na afloop der plechtigheid ging men naar de feestzaal, alwaar genoten werd van een heerlijke koffiemaaltijd. Tijdens dit samenzijn kwamen de buurtbewoners hun opwachting maken en hield de heer N.Wels een feestelijke toespraak en bood het bruidspaar een praktisch cadeau aan.
Henny Schrevers overhandigde een prachtige bloemenmand.
Haast vanzelfsprekend was ook de Bond van Ouden van Dagen vertegenwoordigd, welke bij monde van Voorzitter P.Kastelein het Gouden Paar een grote peperkoek overhandigde.
Van de receptie werd een druk gebruik gemaakt. De allereerste die kwam feliciteren was Pastoor Vinken, die een hartelijke toespraak hield.
Later op de dag zagen we ook burgemeester Mr. van Tuijl en andere notabelen.
De harmonie bracht 's avonds de gebruikelijke serenade en er werden over en weer hartelijke woorden gesproken.
Ondanks de vermoeiende dag hielden bruid en bruidegom zich kranig en maakten zij het hele feest mee.
We hopen dat zij nog lang kunnen praten over deze onvergetelijke dag.""
