Notes about Emerentiana Henrica Dijst

Op 21 juni 1799 wordt door notaris William Pieter Funbull de Nekker een getuigenverklaring van Emerantia (Amerentia). Haar man is overleden en zij werkt als dienstbode van Melchior Meulman en Christian Munink op de Laan (in Den Haag). Zij verklaart:
"....zij een brief heeft horen lezen door Johanna Petronella Westerwijk Torsbergh, huisvrouw van Jan Meyer van Noord. Hij wilde scheiden en terug naar Vlaanderen."
Zij ondertekent als: Amerens Dijst, weduwe van Hendrik Tornet.

Bij het huwelijk van haar broer Gerardus in 1798 woont zij en haar vader in Amsterdam en is het huwelijk met haar stiefmoeder ontbonden. Volgens informatie zou zij in 1798 ook in de Roosenstraat bij haar vader wonen. Of dit tijdelijk is, is niet bekend. Op dat moment (1798) leeft haar man en tenminste haar jongste dochter nog.

Het kind Joanna Deijst van Emerentia Hendrica Deijst en Hendrik Tornet is geboren op 9-9-1799 in Amsterdam 7 maanden na het overlijden van de vader: Hendrik Tornet is op 6-2-1799 overleden. Emernetia zelf is overleden in Amsterdam. Zij is dus kennelijk na het overlijden van haar man Hendrik Tornet naar Amsterdam vertrokken met 1 of 2 kinderen. (Cornelia Tornet, geboren 17 juli 1791, overlijden nog onbekend en Jacoba Hendrica Tornet, geboren 09 november 1796). Jacoba Hendrica Tornet is op 04 juli 1826 in De Haag overleden. Zij is kennelijk later toch weer naar Den Haag gegaan.
