Notes about Maria Magdalena "Mietze" Scholten

Mietze werkte als dienstbode vanaf 1927. Bij de één wat langer, bij de ander wat korter. Het kortst was ze in 1932 bij de familie Roelofs in Enschede, waar ze het anderhalve maand volhield. Gezien de lange lijst van dienstboden bij deze familie in het bevolkingsregister is dat niet verwonderlijk. Vanaf 5 augustus 1930 tot maart 1931 stond ze officieel te boek als Rentetrekster Invaliditeitswet. Hoe lang zij precies arbeidsongeschikt was is onbekend. Toen ze getrouwd was had ze zelf dienstbodes. Daar was er één bij uit Ootmarsum die bij de sollicitatie zei:”Ik kan van alles mevrouw, knollen trekken en noem maar op”. Op zich een prima referentie, maar midden in Hengelo werden weinig knollen verbouwd.
