Notes about Antonie "Toon" Mensink

Toon was lid van de illegale verzetgroep van Hattum, één van de kleinere verzetsgroepen, en werd op 9 juni 1942 gearresteerd. Hij zat lange tijd gevangen in het Oranje-hotel, de gevangenis in Scheveningen in cel 772. Na "dolle dinsdag", 5 september 1944, de dag dat veel duitsers en NSB-ers op de vlucht sloegen, werden veel van de gevangenen overgebracht naar het concentratiekamp Dachau. Zo ook Antonie. Hij arriveerde daar op 28 septenber 1944 en kreeg nummer 111901. Hun namen hadden de gevangenen in Dachau niet meer, alleen hun nummer. Uiteindelijk stierf hij in Dachau op 30 januari 1945. Waardoor is niet bekend; ziekte, ontbering, vermoord ???
