Notes about Teunis Lokhorst

Teunis Lokhorst had in Bussum een transportbedrijf (volgens PK verhuisbedrijf). Hij zat in de autohandel en had een garage in Naarden. Hij werd opa Bussum genoemd.
Woonachtig tot jan 1928 Ede, daarna Bussum, in aug 1936 woonachtig Nw. Englaan 10.

Teunis begon als Boswachter in De Harskamp.
Teunis zette samen met zijn zoon Jan Hendrik de eerste schreden van het latere expeditiebedrijf.
Zij begonnen met een transportfiets waarmee ze pakjes bezorgden.
Dit groeide uit tot een bakfiets, daarna paard en wagen, toen de eerste echte bestelauto.
Toen werd opa Teunis te oud en zette Jan Hendrik de zaak voort. Hij verzorgde zijn ouders met een lijfrente, waarvan zij konden leven.
J.H. verkocht dit uitgegroeide transportbedrijf in ± 1949 en begon met een verhuurbedrijf van autos, maar daarnaast kocht en verkocht hij autos.
Hij bouwde dit uit tot een landelijk bekend staand bedrijf.
De bedoeling was dat zoon Ben (Bennie Jan Cornelis) hem zou opvolgen in dit bedrijf.
Ben verongelukte echter op 27-jarige leeftijd.
Om gezondheidsredenen verkocht hij later zijn zaak.
