Juliana werd 1 oktober 1944 te Apeldoorn gearresteerd bij een huiszoeking waarbij men kwam om haar zoon te arresteren. Bij deze huiszoeking bleek echter dat ze onderdak had verleend aan een Amerikaans en Engels piloot.
Haar zoon wist door moedig optreden te ontkomen.De beide piloten en zijzelf werden gearresteerd. De piloten werden vermoedelijk gefusilleerd terwijl zijzelf naar Duitsland werd vervoerd, waar ze tengevolge van uitputting is overleden.

Zij heeft veel gedaan ter opwekking van haar medegevangenen en zich tot het einde zeer moedig gedragen.
