Lee Russell writes, "Emma Isadora Alvey Clevenger's sister (Aunt Jen) was a 'spiritualist' - that is she could perform things to entertain children - like the sounds of someone washing dishes / or move chairs around the table - this didscare some of the smaller ones who might be afraid of Aunt Jen - she was an eccentric but very affectionate lady." - xv Nov MCMXCIII

Lee Russell writes, "now to Aunt Jen - her son Herbert Lutz was 12 when he was shot, killed by neighbor boy who was jealous of Herbert - they were supposed to be sparrow hunting. After Herbert was killed, Aunt Jen was never the same. Atthe time she had a daughter born shortly after tragedy - named Mabel who m. Ray Gregory - Mabel & my mother Alma Russell were 1st cousins. Aunt Jen was not exactly a spiritualist, who could make dishes rattle etc. but some of heractivities scared some kids. But Aunt Jen while she was eccentric, she was fond of her nieces & nephews & her sister Dora" - xi Jan MCMXCIV

Lee Russell writes, "Aunt Jen had a sun stroke in garden. She died in 1940's - but she still wore high buttoned leather shoes and long dresses, like they did in 1900's.

At one time she lived with wealthy people, they gave her expensive riding clothes to wear at the exclusive meets - with those who kept expensive horses, etc.

When her mother left to go live in California - Dora, Aunt Jen - they had 1/2 brothers - Joseph Fox, William Fox and John Fox - they had to get out & shift for themselves. Other families took them in & gave them homes. But they all hadto work hard for the privileges" - xi Jan MCMXCIV
