Gerardus Hendricus woonde vanaf 6 augustus 1897 tot 9 april 1904 op het adres Avenue Concordia 70 te Rotterdam. Inwonend waren zijn broer Hermanus Marinus en zijn zusters Maria WilhelminaMagdalena en Lamberta.
In 1895 ging Gerardus Hendricus een vennootschap aan met zijn broer Hermanus Marinus onder de naam "Handelsvennootschap onder de firma G.H. van der Schuijt & Co." ter uitoefening van alledaden van koophandel. De firma bouwde in 1898 voor
fl. 127.900,= "Het Witte Huis" aan de Wijnhaven te Rotterdam. Op 9 december 1903 werd door de firma aan de Arrondissementsrechtbank te Rotterdam een verzoekschrift ingediend ter verkrijging van surséance van betaling. Dit verzoek werd op 21 december 1903 door de rechtbank afgewezen en zij verklaarde de firma en haar individuele leden vervolgens in staat van faillissement.Blijkens de uitdelingslijst van 14 november 1906 bedroegen de totale baten fl. 8.633,14 en de crediteuren
fl. 1.411.999,93.
Gerhardus Hendricus is ongehuwd overleden.
