    'dat door hem op den negen en twintigsten Januari dezes jaars, des voormiddags te tien uur op het strand van het eiland Rottumeroog is gevonden, het lijk van een hem onbekend persoon van het mannelijk geslacht, lang naar schatting een meter vijf en zeventig centimeters, haar donker blond, oud vermoedelijk dertig jaren, gekleed in blauwe wollenmarinetrui, met groote kaarg, leeren bovenbroek, nieuwe korte gele oliejas en korte marinelaarzen. De hemd en de onderbroek waren beide van grauwewitte stof,alles ongemerkt. Bedoelde persoon had zeker behoord tot de Duitsche marine.'
