    Peter Hoykes was landbouwer onder Hoogkerk. Op 19 maart 1723 is er voor het gericht Hoogkerk sprake van de minderjarige kinderen van wijlen Peter Hoikes en Trijntje Eckes. Derk Hoykes is sibbevoogd, Balle Hoikes voormond en Adries Frericks vreemde voogd.
    De boedel bestaat voornamelijk uit een boerderij te Hoogkerk met de beklemming van het land, en een vordering van f 311,54 op de kinderen van Gert Hoikes.
    Op 24 januari 1724 blijkt dat de kinderen hebben geerfd van hun olde oom Reinder Balles uit Obergum. De voorstanderen mogen met de andere erfgenamen scheiden en delen. Op 3 mei 1728 verleent het gericht op verzoek van Derk Hoikes als sibbevoogd en Andries Jans als vreemde voogd "sijnde de voormondt Balle Hoikes verstorven en nu doodt boven aarde staande venia aetatis aan de twee kinderen waarvan de eene Ercke Peters, nu oudt ruim 21 jaren, en Geeske Peters, oudt ruim 18 jaren.
