    Cornelis Langendoen woonde aan de Rietdijk en werd op 4 december 1944 opgepakt,  omdat hij een gedeserteerde SS'er in huis had, die bij hem vanaf oktober 1944 ondergedoken zat. Vermoedelijk heeft Cornelis Langendoen niet precies geweten wie hij onderdak bood en is hij daar het slachtoffer van geworden. 

    Op die dag werden nog verschillende andere personen opgepakt voor verhoor en overgebracht naar Brielle. Op  5 december werden De Waal en de Van der Zee's (vader en twee zonen uit Zwartewaal), met Johannes Groeneveld en Cornelis Langendoen uit de groep gehaald. De anderen kregen te horen dat deze zes personen zouden worden doodgeschoten. Zijzelf mochten naar huis. Op dezelfde dag werden de huizen van Cornelis Langendoen en Johannes Groeneveld in brand gestoken.


    Op 5 december 's avonds werden de zes teruggevoerd naar Rockanje en ondergebracht in een bunker. Op 6 december  werden ze gefusilleerd in de duinen, even ten noorden van de Tweede Slag. De begrafenis heeft plaatsgevonden op de ochtend van zaterdag 9 december.
