Luthers predikant, ingezegend te Amsterdam door C.Kerbert,standplaatsenHarlingen, Beverwijk (beroep naar Kampen afgewezen) en laatstelijk teden Haag. Strijder arbeidersbeweging, lid der Tweede Kamer(1888-1891)voor het Friesche district Schoterland, oprichter(1878) en redacteurweekblad "Recht voor Allen", leider vrije socialisten en anarchisten,redacteur De Vrije Socialist. Legt op 1.9.1879 "zijne dienst neder" enverlaat ook de kerk als lidmaat (bron: o.a. Ned.Patr.17). In 1878schrijft hij in zijn blad dat Koning Willem III weinig werk maakte vanzijn baan. Dit kwam Ferdinand op 8 maanden celstraf te staan.
In 1898 sapt hij uit de socialistenbond en stopt ook met het blad "Rechtvoor Allen"; hij richtte een nieuw blad op "De Vrije Socialist"
