Aufgrund der Zerstörung des Kirchenarchivs in Weyhe im Jahr 1776 lässt sich die Geschichte der evangelischen Linie der Dorgelos nur schwer rekonstruieren. Tatsache ist, dass im Gebiet der ehemaligen Grafschaft Hoya der Name Dorgeloh heute noch gehäuft vorkommt. Dorgelohs aus dem Raum Bremen wanderten im 17. Jahrhundert auch in die Niederlande aus
