BROERSMA, Lawrence, age 84, 306 Liberty St., Lynden, passed away at his home on Sat. Dec. 14, 1985. Born Feb. 4, 1901 in Friesland, the Netherlands, Mr. Broersma moved to Lynden from Zillah, Wa. in 1941. A retired farmer, Mr. Broersma had also served as the janitor of the Third Christian Reformed Church in Lynden for 9 years and was also janitor at the Lynden Senior Center for many years. He was married to Grace Wickers in Ireton, Iowa on April 4, 1926.

He is survived by his wife Grace; 8 sons, Lloyd & wife Kay of Lynden, Marvin & wife Chris, Dennis & wife Marcia, all of Byron Center, Michigan, Gerrit & wife Marlene in Calif., Bob & wife Ruth of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ted & wife Dena of Granger, Wa., Ben & wife Bea of Ada, Michigan, Ken & wife Carol of Ferndale; 4 daughters, Mrs. Marge & husband Neal DeYoung of Wyoming, Michigan, Mrs. Elsie & husband Gene Roosma of Ferndale, Mrs. Joyce & husband Clarence Friend of Zillah, Wa., Mrs. Dorothy & husband John Bredeweg of Byron Center, Michigan; 45 grandchildren; 26 greatgrandchildren; numerous nieces & newphews.

Funeral services will be held on Wed. Dec. 18 at 11 A. M. in the Third Christian Reformed Church, Rev. Gerrit W. Sheers officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lynden Christian schools. Services are under the direction of Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.
