Abraham.
Met het opgeheven zwaard, klaar om de op het altaar geknield liggende Izaak te offeren door het hoofd af te slaan, maar God wees het offer af en een engel houdt het zwaard tegen (Gen: 22:10-13).
In vroeger tijd bestonden er nog kinderoffers. Bij het bouwen van een nieuw huis werd soms aan de kindergod Molok een eigen kind geofferd en begraven, op het graf plaatste men dan de hoeksteen van het te bouwen huis (Jeremia 32,35:).
De getoonde steen is oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit de Lange Houtstraat 55, waar in 1631 Abraham Drago Vecho woonde.
De foto's zijn van voor, tijdens en na de restauratie door de bekende Gevelsteen restaurateur Wil Abels in 2008.
