Opvallend is, dat op zijn eigen wapen de naam met twee o's wordt gespelt.
In dit genealogisch overzicht houden wij voor de duidelijkheid voorlopig 1 O aan.
Hij was Ridder en Heer van Thamen en Blokland van 1637 tot 1640 en Heer van Maarseveen en Neerdijk sinds 1640.
Zijn jeugd bracht hij door in een pand in de Sint Anthonie Breestraat, in 1625 woonde hij op de Lauriergracht, ook bezat hij een buitenverblijf Goudenstein dat hij zelf langs de Vecht bij Maarssen liet bouwen, (Diependaalsedijk 19).
Hij was 6 keer Burgemeester van Amsterdam: 1651, 1654, 1655, 1657, 1659 en 1660.
De Familie bezat een pand op het Singel (op bloemenmarkt huidige nummer 548) dat in 1639 was gebouwd door architect Phillip Vingboons (Zie foto), helaas is het verloren gegaan in de 2e Wereldoorlog toen in 1943 tijdens een bombardement een vliegtuig er op neerstortte. Op deze plaats staat nu (2009) een groot pand van de Fortisbank.
Op het grote schuttersstuk in zwart/wit van 265 x 516 cm van Govert Flink uit 1648 staan: Joan Huydecoper, Frans Oetgens van Waveren, Nicolaes Oetgens van Waveren, Jan Appelman, Jacob v Campen, Rogier Ramsden, Pieter Waterpas, Aert Jan v Lier, Joris de Wijze, Pieter Mettert, Nicolaas v Haag, Jan Stuurman, Johannes Doavenne, Albert ten Brink, Johannes v. d. Haag, Govert Anthoniszoon Flink,
