Joseph moved with his first wife Susanna to the Great Plain, which is back of Wickford, RI. He was a squatter on the Great Plain on June 3 1709 the colony agents sold him and others 727 acres east of the road running to East Greenwich. His son John stayed at home and the other sons moved to their own farms.
