== Biography ==Anthony's birth was not recorded, but he was probably born in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, where his parents John and Elizabeth (____) Cory resided. Further it is known that an Anthony Corey was given a houselot by an unnamed father, which he gave to his brother Thomas in his will. "This son, A[burned away] [land] given him before by a Deed [burned away] ... was surely Anthony Corey of Newport who died probably in the summer of 1715, leaving a will dated 8 April 1714 and proved 1 August 1715."
Anthony's will names four of the five previously known children of John and Elizabeth and in addition names sisters Dina Card, Hopestill Card, Ann Allen and Elizabeth Cory and also nephew Anthony, son of William.
"In the name of God amen. I Anthony Corry of Newport ship Carpenter. " is followed by a typical preamble, and bequests.
:Item: I give unto my brother Wm Corry, five pounds:Item: I give unto my broth John Corry work I have done for him & _____
:I: I give unto broth Joseph Corry al my wareing apparel.:I: I give unto my broth Thomas Corry my house lot that was given to me by my father unto him his heirs & assigns forever.
I: I give unto my broth Wm Corry son, Anthony Corry, twenty shillings.Item: I give al ye rest of my [esta]te [tha]t was given to me by my father unto [my] four sistes to be equally devided between them viz. Dina Card, Hopstil Card, Ann Allen & Elizabeth Cory.:I appoint my loveing broth Wm Corry full & sole executor ... eighth day of April 1714. [signed] Anthony Corry.
