Hello Phil,
I came across your messages to other researchers on Ancestrylibrary.com and wondered if you might be able to help me with a similar query. My great great grandfather, Thomas Doran, worked at Whittington Barracks as a labourer following a 22 year military career. He died there on June 13, 1890 but I do not know where he was buried. My guess is at St. Giles. Might you have a record of his burial in your index?
With best regards,
Sandra Sellick

Hi Phil,
Thanks so much for this information. Was Bridget also buried at St. Giles? I suspect that both graves are unmarked but would appreciate correction is that is not the case.
Thanks for the Galway note on Bridget. I am curious to know you know that. Most of her records simply indicate that she was born in Ireland. You already have some basic info about this couple and I am curious to know the source of your information on this line; there is plenty more.
Thomas and Bridget married in Benares (Varansasi), Bengal in 1865. They had five children: Elizabeth who was born in Darjeeling in 1866 and died in Sialkot in 1871, Thomas who died in Allahabad in 1869 at the age of one, Sarah Ellen (my great grandmother)who was born in Sialkot in 1870, Christina Eva possibly born in 1873 (Sialkot?), and Florence as noted below.
Bridget also had a daughter, Mary born 1863, and a son, Alfred born 1864, with her second husband William Feaver who, like Thomas Doran, was a member of HM 58«sup»th«/sup» Regiment. Margaret born 1853 and William John born 1855 were the children of William Feaver and his first wife, Margaret.
I have discovered that «b»Thomas Doran«/b» is quite a common name. The Tamworth family could be descendedfrom a relation on «b»Thomas Doran«/b»'s side. I only know that my great great grandfather was born approximately Jan. 20, 1836 in Dublin, the son of a Pearce Doran. He enlisted at Westminster in Middlesex on Jan. 20, 1853. I have been able to find no information about him prior to his enlistment in the army.
With best regards,
Sandra
