JOSEPHSON – Joseph [John] Josephson, 84, retired stone mason, died at 4 a .m. today at Memorial Hospital,Johnstown. He was admitted to the hospit al on Wednesday after fracturing his left hip in a fall on the porch of h is home. Deputy Coroner Andrew Stropko is investigating.
He was born in Finland on December 26, 1862, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Jose ph Josephson. He came to America in 1866 and settled in New Sweden, Me [M aine]. On March 31, 1891, he married Alva [Elva] Beals in Clearfield Coun ty.
Surviving are his widow and four children – Lydia, wife of Joseph Eash, T oledo, Ohio; Henry, Farmville, Virginia; Lloyd, South Fork; and John, Tole do, Ohio. There are 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Dimond Funeral Home, where services wi ll be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday. Rev. A. C. Kuntz, pastor of the Christi an and Missionary Alliance Church, will officiate. Interment will be in t he Sidman (Lovett) Cemetery [Sidman, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, USA].
