Saint Alban's Cathedral
Zij had een relatie met Robert II Pemberton.
Kind(eren):
Catherine's date of birth and marriage date are unknown as the St Albans, Hertfordshire parish registers did not commence until 1558. She probably married husband Robert Pemberton about 1549. Likewise her parents names are not known, though it is known her surname was Stokes through the wills of her brother and nephew. Her nephew Roger Stokes in his will of 1578 left bequests to "my cousin Roger Pemberton" and my aunt Pemberton". This Rogers father (Catherine's brother) was another Roger Stokes. He was married to a woman named Ellin, and he died in 1573/74 leaving a will of "Roger Stokes, mercer of St Albans". In his will he left bequests to "my nephew Roger Pemberton" and "my brother in law Robert Pemberton".
Catherine is likely buried at St Albans in the 1620/30s, though there is no entry in the St Albans register for her burial.
Her husband Robert Pemberton's parents are unknown and are not shown in the 1634 visitation of Hertfordshire, though he is stated as "of St Albans" in the visitation.
He was buried at St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England on 16 July 1578 the burial register stating "Robert Pemberton buried"
The Roger Stokes and wife Emma previously shown as parents are actually Catherin's nephew and his wife, as evidenced in the will mentioned above.
