WILLIAM H CARR
William H Carr, 59, husband of Theresa Vink Carr, died suddenly Friday morning (March 2, 1951) at his home. Gully Road, LeRoy, of a heart attack.
He was born in Buffalo, the son of Delbert and Louise Busse Carr on Jury 30, 1891, but lived his early boyhood in Auburn. In 1911 Mr. Carr began his marketing career in the New York Public Markets, returning up-state three years later to continue in this occupation until 1924, when he engaged in farming, along with the produce business. In later years he has been in business with his son. He was a charter member and Genesee's County delegate on the Committee to study and plan for the forming of the Rochester Regional Market. Mr. Carr was a member of the Mumford United Presbyterian and the Genesee County Farm Bureau.
Surviving, besides his wife, are one son Alvin H., a daughter, Marian Elizabeth of Rochester, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Ingalls of Auburn.
Services were held at the home on Monday afternoon (March 5) at 2:30 o'clock. Rev Donald MacLeod, Rev. Elwyn Merriam, and Dr. David Haglund officiated. Burial was in the Mumford Rural Cemetery.
The bearers were John G. Ball, Caledonia: Stanley Friend, LeRoy, Frank List, Rochester, Harry Paul, LeRoy, Neil Handy and Theodore Buhl of Batavia.
