Chiloquin, Oregon - Vernon Kuipers, a beloved partner, sibling, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2024 at the age of 68. His departure has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his love of animals, legacy of creativity, empathy and kindness will continue to inspire us.
Born on March 25, 1956, in Edgerton Minnesota. As a child, Vernon and his family moved to California where he grew to be a beacon of artistic brilliance. His creativity knew no bounds, whether he was painting, crafting various types of intricate sculptures, or composing stain glass pieces. His art was not merely a reflection of the world around him, but a window into his boundless imagination and deep empathy for others.
Beyond his artistic talents, Vernon hadan immense love for animals. His home was always open to furry and feathery friends. His compassion for animals was evident in the way he lived his life.
He is deeply missed by his two dogs, Copper and Bently; and devoted partner, Rick Calabrese. Whose unwavering love and support were the cornerstones of his life. Vernon was also a cherished sibling and twin. His brother Darwyn and sisters,Linda and Verla (twin), remember him for his infectious laughter, thoughtful conversations, and the countless childhood memories they shared together.
As an uncle, Vernon was a guiding star to his nieces and nephews. His stories, wisdom, and perspective left an indelible mark on their lives, fostering creativity and curiosity in each of them.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Vernon is now reunited with his all of loving parents, August and Betty Kuipers, and his aunts and uncles among the stars. Their celestial reunion is a testament to the enduring bonds of family and love.
A memorial service to celebrate Vernon's life and legacy will be held on Sept. 21st at Stouffer Park in Ripon. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to ASPCA in his memory, continuing his love of dogs.
